Jeremy Eden’s skilfully crafted realist drawings sensationalise the everyday. Eden’s practice is rooted in observation as the artist surveys and captures the everyday through the photographic medium. An exercise in personal mapping.
Clothes on a bedroom floor, traffic light crossings at 2:00pm, a plastic bag trapped in a river bed. With the intervention of the artists hand, Eden sensationalises these mundane moments of everyday life through the tradition of realist drawing.
The immensely technical and refined mark making combined with the high contrast aesthetic grabs the viewers attention and draws their consideration to the details of the everyday.
